One word - sportsbook. This is what the Westgate prides itself on. The largest one in the world in fact. Westgate is football central. If you want somewhere to watch the games with a fun crowd, go to the Westgate. When we visited back in October last year, we got to the Superbook (as it likes to call itself) about an hour before kick off for the days' NFL games - could we find a seat in there? Nope. And there's 400 seats available too ... But not to fear! The International Theatre is opened up and it has plenty more seating - they're actually holding a Super Bowl viewing party in there this weekend - it's $100 per person however it's all you can eat and drink with reserved seating. Really quite a bargain to be honest! Anyhoo, back to the casino. It's small but modern and as I notice with all the casinos we visit, it's very visually pleasing. New, clean and a good selection of old and new slots. The Westgate does have a poker room - it'...

You lucky lucky people! You get a bonus review today ... whilst I'm in the mood to type, you're getting a little insight into Black Tap Burgers and Craft Beers. It was my Birthday a week or so ago and Mr G took me to Black Tap for a birthday treat - again, it's another burger place and I promise, we eat things other than burgers it just so happened that I'd seen this place was opening in the Venetian and their milkshakes are apparently to die for. They weren't wrong. The food, to be honest, was an afterthought - we were there for the CrazyShake. And crazy it was. As it was my birthday I had to get The Cake Shake - yes, it comes with a huge slice of funfetti birthday cake on the top, yes, ON THE TOP! Mr G went Brooklyn Blackout and opted for the chocolate flavoring with accompanying chocolate brownies stuck in the top of it. Here's the pics ... SLS Las Vegas .... Sweet Luxurious Stay. It's beautiful, it's clean, it's modern and has a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. It's a little farther up the strip than you might wish to wander but it's so worth a visit. It's grounds are well kept and the space alien out front, well, he's just awesome. The casino and sportsbook are both small in the SLS, but they're nice and modern - the sportsbook is a William Hill one and on it's counter, one of the cool parts of it's décor are stickers and decals for many many sports teams - football, hockey, baseball ... it's a neat little addition and quite eye catching and unusual. Speaking of nicely decorated, whilst I didn't go in it, the SLS has an awesome looking outdoor pool with the Foxtail bar. Again the décor around it is in a silver and modern style and one of the corners features a huge silver duck ... Despite the size of the SLS, it does have several places to eat and drink....

HEY HEY! (the only Krusty the Clown reference I'll use, I promise) Today's review is all about Circus Circus. Located at the far end of the strip near the Stratosphere, the SLS and Westgate, CC is not really a place you'd want to go back to. In my opinion, the place was dark and dated, when wandering through it, it gave me a feel of being at a cheap British coastal town penny arcade. Now, I'm from Britain and I love our coastal towns and their penny arcades but that's where they should stay - there's not really a place for it here in Vegas. The hallways to walk through before getting to the actual casino are littered with tacky gift stalls. Again, I know what you're thinking ... this is Vegas and Vegas IS tacky. Yes it's bright, its colorful and it's vibrant - a melting pot for all however it doesn't need to be a tack-fest. Here it is! Review #1 is in the books! Last night we visited the Sunset Station Casino - it's one of the off strip casinos in the "Station Family" and is linked in with Wildfire, Fiesta and Palms casinos as well as the other Station ones. It is conveniently located at 1301 W Sunset Road in Henderson - 702-547-7777 which is also across the street from the Sunset Galleria Mall so when you're all filled up on gambling, you can shoot across the street to spend your winnings at the mall! :D Also, for you Pokémon Go fans out there, there's a couple of gyms and a few Pokestops at the casino too to stock up on those Ultra Balls and catch yourself a Wobbuffet ;) So, our first thing we looked for to review was the poker room - short answer, there isn't one. Well hello! As we are yet to commence the official casino reviewing, I thought I'd do a quick write up on a couple of my favorite places in the area - Fremont Street and the Neon Boneyard Museum - both downtown in "old" Vegas. The Neon Boneyard Museum is located at 770 Las Vegas Boulevard North and tours can be booked either in person at the museum, on the website - http://www.neonmuseum.org/ or by calling them at 702-387-6366. The museum is an approximately 2 acre plot of land featuring the neon signs, rescued from the older casinos. The museum tour generally lasts around an hour and is great - I'd recommend a tour early in the morning if you're visiting in mid summer - the temps by 9am can be pretty crazy here in Vegas by that time - the tour does offer umbrellas for shade and the guides try their very best to get you in the shadows too whilst undergoing the tour.
