Stratosphere, Las Vegas, NV

Well hello dear readers whoever and wherever you are :)
Today's review is of the Stratosphere here in Las Vegas.

The Strat (as I like to call it) is the landmark you'll see wherever you are on the strip, you can almost always see it - when we are travelling somewhere or coming home, I always like to say "hey, I can see the Strat" cos the majority of the time, you can!

One of the first bonuses about the Strat is the free parking  - always good.  Inside is nice and quite modern - clean but a little dark and smoky at times.  The sportsbook is very small - there is minimal seating but they do have one.  They also have a very small poker room too - we walked by and saw that it was exceptionally busy (likely due to it's size) and there was actually queue to get in to play.

Gaming floor featured a nice amount of slots - pretty decent variety of old and new, just your standard really.  The décor inside was nice but as mentioned before, could be a little dark.  Food and drink options were aplenty - fast food options featured are Starbucks, McDonalds, El Nopal Mexican Grill, Wok Vegas and Chicago Food House.  Other not so fast food places include the Crafted Buffet, Roxy's 50's Diner, Nunzios Pizzeria and Fellinis Italian.  All standard fare really in the casinos of Las Vegas.
There are of course bars to visit - Sin City Hops which has craft beers and bar snacks, Margarita Bay, Airbar and CBar which is in the middle of the casino.  2 of the main bars / places to eat in the Stratosphere are actually located at the top of the tower - Top of the World and the 107 Sky Lounge.  107 is the place to go at night in the Stratosphere - it's open between 4pm-3am and offers the best happy hour, the best cocktails, best martini and best late night eats to name a few ...

Now, speaking of the top of the tower ... I headed up there to see what the views of Vegas and the mountains were like.  In short, fantastic.  It costs $25 to go to the top or $20 if you are a local and have a valid ID.  I'll let the pictures speak for themselves .....

And when you're at the top, there's not only the awesome views ... you can also partake in one of the insane rides they have up there (which I DEFINITELY did not do).  You can bungee jump from the top- Sky Jump - which I watched a few people do then felt a little queasy ...  ride the exceptionally short Scream - which is kind of a rollercoaster but not quite  - there's Insanity - a Toy Story-esque claw machine claw that rotates and hangs you nicely over the edge of the building whilst whirring around and then finally the Big Shot where you're strapped into seats and propelled to the top of the needle of the building and then shot back down it again.  I stuck to the views and the walking around and the taking of pictures for you, my dear readers :)

That's all for now ... Viva !
